Emerald green Neretva river flows through the city, it’s a clean and drinkable river, that refreshes and offers different possibilities for water sports, such as white water rafting or canyoning on one of it’s tributary. River flows into Jablanicko lake that is located south from the city and it’s a great place for relaxation and swimming. Less than half an hour away there is a natural glacier lake, Boracko, that is located at the ideal place for the family vacation and relaxation in the nature. You’ll find camps, hotels, restaurants here and you’ll get a chance to do different activities, like white water rafting, camping, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and even paragliding. Glavaticevo Valley is located nearby the Boracko lake and it’s a starting point of the white water rafting on Neretva river. The most impressive view from the city is the one towards the Prenj mountain that is also known as Himalayas of Herzegovina. This mountain seems to float above the city with its highest peaks above 2000 meters asl, while the city is at about 300 meters asl.
Take a walk in the old part of Konjic and you’ll find old stone bridge that was originally built in 1682, but it was demolished by the end of the WW2 and rebuilt in 2009. The center of Konjic is it’s historical core where you’ll have a chance to see building influences brought there by different cultures. Nearby Konjic you can visit an atomic shelter for the Yugoslavian era, that was built as a military base and a safe place for president Tito. The Tito’s bunker is opened for visitors and it will give you a unique insight in the power of the Yugoslavia.
